Children are the pillars of the country.Children's reading is the core link of mother-tongue learning.The foundation of lifelong learning is of vital importance to the growth of individuals and the development of the nation.At present,focusing on children's reading and paying attention to the healthy growth of children has risen to national work and has gradually become a worldwide topic.Because children have different psychological characteristics and reading needs at different ages,the social functions and public welfare characteristics of public libraries determine their responsibilities and obligations in serving children readers.In addition,the public library has many advantages for serving children readers,making it a very important part of daily work for public libraries to provide them with graded reading services according to children's reading ability.The public library's work of graded reading service for children readers has important practical significance for improving children's reading ability,cultivating their reading interest,and acquiring learning ability in the future.However,there are still many problems in the actual public library graded reading service.For example,reading resources,service facilities,and reading activities for readers of younger ages are relatively scarce.Graded book recommendation and reading guidance work is not sufficient.In some areas,library for children's activities are not routine,also there are very few audiences.It greatly affects the reading experience of children readers and reduces the quality and effectiveness of services.Therefore,this paper takes 39 public libraries in China as the survey object,and conducts a survey of the children's graded reading services provided by these libraries through online survey and field interviews,and analyzes the main problems in the services.And tried to put forward the development strategies and suggestions for improving the graded reading service for children readers in public libraries in China.The thesis including six parts.The first chapter gives a basic introduction to the research background,research purpose and significance,research status,research methods and research ideas.The second chapter is about the related theories and concept of the graded reading service for children reader in public libraries.The third chapter investigates the statistics of the building classification,reading recommendation service and reading activity of 39 investigation halls.The fourth chapter is based on the results of the third chapter,summarizing and analyzing the current problems exist in children's graded reading services in public library in China;the fifth chapter starts with some problems found in the fourth chapter,and then puts forward the corresponding service improvement strategies and suggestions;the sixth chapter summarizes the papers,and indicates the shortcomings of existence and the expectation of the future of digital resources for children.I hope that through this research will make a small amount of contribution to the orderly development of reading for all of our country.Also hope relevant professionals or related research personnel can pay more attention to the importance of children's graded reading and provide better graded reading services for children readers in China.
