Reading is one of the basic skills for people to acquire knowledge and understand things.Image book is a combination of image and text.For children,because their physiology and psychology are in the early stage of development,reading for children is conducive to children's imagination and observation,can cultivate children's language ability,reading ability and thinking ability,enhance children's aesthetic.According to children's reading habits and characteristics,most of the books promoted to children are picture books.The reading promotion of children's picture books has been paid more and more attention by the government,society,schools and families,and the reading promotion activities of children's picture books have also attracted much attention.In this process,as the main body of children's reading promotion,public library has the advantages of collection and environment,and should improve the development of children's picture book reading promotion activities.Based on the research of theory and practice,this paper analyzes the related concepts,explains the significance and advantages of children's picture book reading promotion in public libraries,summarizes the existing problems of children's picture book reading promotion in public libraries in China through case analysis at home and abroad,and analyzes the causes.Finally,it summarizes the optimization path of children's picture book reading push in public library.That is to say,we should establish a normalized children's picture book reading promotion mechanism from the aspects of perfecting and summarizing the relevant laws and regulations on children's reading rights,formulating the development strategic plan for children's picture book reading,encouraging and cultivating the construction of children's picture book reading promotion projects in public libraries,and strengthen the construction of professional staff to help children's reading,so as to create a hierarchical,digital,three-dimensional and characteristic reading system We should take government measures,make use of internal potential and social choice to create a common collection of children's books;we should use the co construction mode of Public Library + community,public library +school,public library + government departments,public library + promoters to establish collaborative children's picture book reading promotion mode.
