Objectives:To describe the status of job performance, work value and organizational commitment of clinical nurses from third grade comprehensive hospitals in Jilin Province; to clarify the differences of job performance, work value and organizational commitment of clinical nurses in the general population characteristics;to explore the relationship among job performance and work value, organizational commitment of clinical nurse.Method:Non-experimental study was used in this study, clinical nurses for the study were randomly selected from two 3 A-level general hospitals in Jilin Province.A total of 600 questionnaires was inssued, and 578 question-naires were usable. Four measurement instruments examining general demographic characteristics about clinical nurse, organization commitment questionaire, job performance scale, work values scale were used in this study. The date collected was analyzed by SPSS13.0, statis-tical methods used in this study included descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson correlation analysisResults:(1) The level of job performance of clinical nurse from third grade comprehensive hospitals in Jilin Province is above average, the total score of it was (154.44±21.87). The score of six dimensions followed by high and low were as follow:critical care, leadship, professional development, communication, planning, teaching. The proportion of three levels were lower(1%),medium(52.6%), higher(46.4%)。(2) The score of job performance had differences on nurses'general demographic characteristics:leadship had differences on marriage, age, working years, professional title, income, duties; critical care had differences on marriage, age, working years,professional title; professional development had differences on educational background, professional title, duties; planning had differences on age, professional title; teaching had differences on working years.(3) The total score of work value of clinical nurse from third grade comprehensive hospitals in Jilin Province was (179.44±30.86). The score of seven dimensions followed by high and low were as follow: self-respect orientation,interpersonal communication, individual growth and development, traffic convenience, self-actualization, financial security, avoiding job stress. Work value of clinical nurse had differences on nurses'general demographic characteristics which include educational background, working years, retaining types, professional title and income.(4) The total score of organizational commitment of clinical nurse from third grade comprehensive hospitals in Jilin Province was(93.28±13.80). The dimensions of organizational commitment sequenced from upper to lower were as follow:retention commitment, effort commitment, value commitment. Organizational commitment of clinical nurse had differences on retaining types.(5) There existed positive correlation among job performance and work value, organizational commitment (P<0.01)Conclusion:(1) The level of job performance of clinical nurse from third grade comprehensive hospitals in Jilin Province is above average, the highest average of six dimensions is critical care, the lowest is teaching.(2) Marriage, age, working years, professional title were relevant to critical care; marriage, age, working years, professional title, income, duties were relevant to leadship; educational background, professional title, duties were relevant to professional development; age, professional title were relevant to planning; working years were relevant to teaching.(3) Educational background, working years, professional title, retaining types, income were relevant to work value.(4) Retaining types was relevant to organizational commitment.(5) The relationship among job performance, work value and organizational commitment of clinical nurses from third grade comprehensive hospitals in Jilin Province was significantly positive correlation. The higher score of work value and organizational commitment of clinical nurses, the better they do job performance.
