Wireless industrial communication is another popular technology in industrial control systems after fieldbus and industrial Ethernet. It has been rapidly developed in recent decades. But there are many multiple bands and communication standards in wireless sensor networks. In order to reduce the interference between the signals in the communication, we introduced software defined radio in the wireless industrial communications of the wireless industrial network monitoring system. The wireless industrial network monitoring system research and application is supported by Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai.Firstly, propose a wireless industrial monitoring system based on software defined radio. Design a filter algorithm based on empirical mode decompo- sition (EMD). Decompose the wireless industrial communication signals with EMD. The simulation results proved that it avoids the false signals which are appeared when using FFT to analysis the time-varying frequency signals. It effectively filters out most of the industrial noises and interferences. It is suitable for wireless industrial monitoring and control.Secondly, a Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform is designed,which consists of four parts. The main design includes circuits of the AD, the digital signal processing and external interface between AD and the digital signal processing. Then, design the serial communication between the digital signal processing and the host computer. It facilitates the renewal and upgrading of hardware. The signal of wireless sensor networks can be sent to the host computer through SDR platform.Thirdly, a wireless industrial monitoring software is designed based on the VC++ software platform. It displays the conditions of devices, equipment parameters, real time/historical trend curve analysis, conditions of wireless network nodes, historical data, warning records and other information through the property pages. It monitors all the equipments, and handles emergencies timely. It is easy to change the hardware according to demands.Finally, our project team does a joint commissioning. The wireless industrial communications monitoring system, which is based on software defined radio, filters the signal of the sub-sensor networks. And communicate with the host computer through the serial port to complete the wireless industrial monitoring and control. The result showed that: the SDR, based on EMD filtering, can filter out electro-magnetic interference and high frequency vibration. The software can display the real time information to save human resources and avoid personal injury caused by the industrial environment.
