With the rapid development of economy and Internet technology,more and more enterprises and individuals have joined the software and Internet industry,hoping to explore the value and market potential in the industry.Correspondingly,software development projects in these companies are also increasing significantly.Whether these software development projects can be delivered on schedule can in many cases even determine whether a company can survive in the extremely competitive technology industry.However,because most of the employees in the technology industry are engaged in programming,product management or market development positions,they’re lack of professional project management,especially project schedule management experience,so software development project delays in companies are quite common.As a typical large Internet company,Company A encountered a similar situation when developing an information management platform.Therefore,this thesis attempts to use scientific schedule management methods to manage the progress of software development projects,so as to solve the delay problem of similar projects.This thesis takes the development project of safety management information platform of company A as an example,and studies from the aspects of schedule planning,progress control and guarantee measures.Company A’s safety management information platform development project is a software development project planned in 2021 and implemented in 2022.Its purpose is to establish a standard and unified safety information management platform for use by all data centers around the world.First of all,through investigation and research,this thesis analyzes the problems existing in the schedule management of similar software development projects in Company A in the past.The main problem is the lack of scientific schedule formulation and control methods.Secondly,this thesis adopts a series of scientific progress management methods(including Work Breakdown Structure,Gantt Chart,Critical Path,PERT,etc.)to formulate the schedule plan of this project.Subsequently,this thesis proposes a method of monitoring the execution of the schedule plan,and the countermeasures after the deviation is found in the monitoring,and considering that the traditional schedule management method fails to fully consider the possible impact of the uncontrollable factors in the project execution on the schedule,using the buffer theory in the critical chain to insert buffers after the critical and non-critical chains of the project to ensure the final delivery of the project as scheduled.When formulating the schedule control plan,this thesis integrates the three-color control method with the overall completion schedule of the project,and proposes an improved version of the buffer monitoring risk warning map.Finally,according to the actual situation of the company and the characteristics of this project,suggestions for safeguarding measures for project schedule management are given,including the introduction of professional project management personnel,the establishment of an effective communication mechanism and a reward and punishment mechanism.By combining the modern project management theory and method with the development project of A company’s safety management information platform,this thesis finds a road suitable for the schedule management of software development projects,which is helpful to not only A company’s software development project schedule management,but other company’s software development projects as well.
