People’s Daily In The Era Of Media "Centenary Of The Founding Of The Party" Major Theme Coverage Research

From 1921 to 2021,the Communist Party of China(CPC)has been building its foundation for the future for 100 years,and its significance has attracted widespread attention from the whole society.The People’s Daily has accelerated the pace of media integration,and its news products are distinctive and diversified,reflecting the long history and great achievements of the CPC.It has played a key and unique role in the battle for the party’s centenary.Through content analysis and case studies,this paper draws on the theories of Entenmann and Gassam to analyse the content of the People’s Daily newspaper,microblog,We Chat public number and client’s coverage of the 100 th anniversary of the founding of the Party,dividing the content into three levels: selection,highlighting and construction.On this basis,we summarize the framework and causes of the coverage of the "Centenary of the Founding of the Party",and further analyze and sort out the strategies for constructing the meaning of the coverage of the "Centenary of the Founding of the Party";finally,we summarize the innovation of the coverage of major themes with case studies.The study finds that the People’s Daily has been covering the centenary of the founding of the Party.The study found that the coverage was long and extensive,and that traditional media and integrated media matrix cooperated with each other in the coverage of the centenary of the founding of the Party,bringing their strengths into play.On the whole,the genre,format and timing of the coverage on different platforms have their own focus,reflecting the characteristics of the People’s Daily’s integrated media,but the content and tendency of the coverage are consistent,constructing a framework for mainstream media coverage in China: namely,achievement-led framework,positive reporting framework,data and facts framework,current affairs and policy framework,metaphorical rhetoric framework,attribution ideology framework,and advocacy for the future framework.Finally,through case studies,we explore how the People’s Daily can consolidate the advantages of traditional media and bring into play the powerful power of new media to bring more readable,watchable and perceptible quality content to audiences,improve the ability of information acquisition,expand the effectiveness of communication,provide reference and experience for the innovation of major reports.
