In recent years,reading for all has gradually been elevated to a national strategic level,and the awareness of and demand for reading in society has been increasing,with a strong reading atmosphere and a variety of reading activities in China.Reading for children and young people is the foundation of reading for all,and is of great concern to parents and society.As children and adolescents are at an important stage of their lives and growth,guiding them to cultivate good reading habits is a responsibility shared by the whole society,and is a basic service function of public libraries.Based on mechanism design theory,synergy theory and cognitive development theory,and combining various research methods such as literature research method,network survey method and synthetic inductive method,the study investigates the current situation of the construction of the long-term mechanism of children's thematic reading activities in public libraries from the dimensions of activity organization and management,activity participation,activity safeguard and activity evaluation,and conducts research on the typical practices of children's thematic reading activities in public libraries and proposes countermeasures and suggestions for the construction of a long-term mechanism in a targeted manner.The study is divided into six parts: the first part is the introduction,which elaborates on the background and significance,the research ideas and methods,and the innovation points of the study,and summarizes and reviews the current situation of domestic and international research.The second part defines and outlines the basic concepts and related theories,explains the relationship between children's thematic reading activities and long-term mechanisms so as to present the theoretical basis of the study.The third part analyses the current situation and problems of the construction of long-term mechanisms of children thematic reading activities in public libraries.The study finds that the long-term mechanism of reading activities in public libraries in China suffers from the weaknesses of inadequate social participation,imperfect construction of activity-related systems,insufficient activity protection and insufficient follow-up evaluation.By analyzing the reasons for the emergence of problems,the research explores issues related to the construction of a long-term mechanism for thematic reading activities for children and youth in public libraries.The fourth part draws inspiration from the typical practices of the 15 sample public libraries and the typical case,Xiangtan City Library,in the construction of a long-term mechanism for children and youth themed reading activities by summarizing and outlining the typical practices.The fifth section proposes a path for the construction of a long-term mechanism for thematic reading activities for children in public libraries.The study concludes that six dimensions should be adopted,namely,standardizing the scientific decision-making mechanism,establishing a tiered activity operation mechanism,improving the investment guarantee mechanism,strengthening the coordination mechanism,improving the social participation mechanism and forming a diversified evaluation mechanism,so that these mechanisms can be consistently formed into normalization and long-term effectiveness,and creating thematic reading activities through various joint efforts to promote thematic reading activities for children and achieve greater social benefits.The sixth section summarizes the findings and shortcomings of the study.
