Reading is an important way to obtain knowledge. The forming of reading atmosphere can decrease the gap of knowledge in whole society, foster people devoting for life-long study, and improve the synthesized competitive power country. As the future f one country, children should be cultured well, especially their reading abilities. These years, countries begin to make the Reading Activities as their tactic strategies for educational reform.In China, We can see that all provinces are treating the "Reading Activities" seriously, through the various related exercises they have pushed. However, If we want to make sure that the "Reading Activities" can be helpful to children’s reading, we should not only pay efforts as libraries, but approve of parents. Because for children, parents are their first teachers in life, and the behavior of parents can produce great effectiveness to them. So it is important.The purpose of this study is to understand the cognition and attitude of parents on children’s reading activities with the Fuzhou Children’s Library as an example. This study is understand the present situation of children’s reading activities carried out of the library, attitude and the related situation cognition to the probe into the parents’children’s Reading Activities. To achieve the purpose, this first step the method of content analysis to understand the current status development of children’s Reading Activities in Fuzhou Children’s Library, Secondly, researchers used the literature study and questionnaire method, through the experts’validity and reliability test to establish the validity and reliability of the research tools:at the same time, we questionnaire those parents whose children frequently used the Children’s Library in Fuzhou, surveying then at the basis of one Children Activities named "Parent-Child Shared-book reading", and we analyse the results and make a date statistics. At last, we choose six parents which have participated in the Fuzhou children’s library reading over two years for the interview, the content of the interview is to help interpretation of questionnaire survey results.The results of the study are as follows:First, in content the Fuzhou children’s library have carried out the following activities, the small librarian obligation practice, home purchase books, children’s stories, movies, introduction new book, mobile library, cold summer activities and so on; In terms of publicity, Fuzhou children’s library have developed the traditional mode into the modern ones, This shows the library is very active in propaganda; Secondly, the results generated by questionnaire indicate that libraries are very positive in making usage of the activities, they afford the activities high assessment, and they also approve the activity inclination of children’s activities, Finally, we analyzed and reached the result of irrelevant between the different parents’ in cognition and attitude of children’s reading activities.According to the related survey we have done, the main achievements the library have achieved are as follow:keeping the famous activities, innovation of characteristic service and sharing municipal engineering center resources. The main problems are that,on one side, parents thought that the children’s reading room is noisy, on the other side, they think reading training which suitable for parents is not enough. Besides, the collection management is not perfect and the way to push service is not directly; At last, we put forward some suggestions as follows:the promotion and integration for Children’s Reading Activities, the development of suitable reading training for parents, the expression of modern technology in children’s reading activitives, and the establishment of an effective evaluation system. We hope that the results of this study can promote children’s reading activities in public libraries, improve the level of reading movement, and contribute a little value things on the construction of scholarly society.
