Based on the analysis of the reports on medical staff in the official microblog of People's Daily,this paper summarizes the empathic communication strategies of medical staff reports from the phenomenon to the essence,and at the same time deeply analyzes which part of the presentation can better trigger the audience's empathic communication.Based on this analysis,how to improve the narrative quality of medical staff reports,strengthen the effect of empathy,so as to promote more medical staff reports.In this way,more high-quality reports by medical personnel can better influence the public,and provide reference for the new media platforms of other traditional media to further apply new media reports to strengthen the prevention and control of COVID-19.It also provides a reference for the empathic communication of new media coverage of such major public events in the future.Firstly,this paper analyzes the content of the medical report on the official microblog of People's Daily on January 15,2020 and April 1,2020,and finds that the empathy figures are mainly the post-90 s,the elderly or female medical staff.Empathic emotions mainly act together with cognitive empathy and emotional empathy.In terms of empathic scenes,Chinese traditional festival scenes are created for empathic communication.At the same time,all the reports were ranked according to the thumb up amount,and the differences in narrative voice and narrative perspective between the high like group and the low like group were compared through text analysis.It is found that the narrative voice combined with the perspective of limited knowledge and multiple narrators can make the audience more empathic.At the same time,through the analysis of the communication time line,it is found that there is excessive empathy in the middle period of communication--that is,February--and a large amount of emotional empathy is contrary to the principle of news objectivity to some extent.Based on this,the relationship between emotion and objectivity in news is analyzed.It is concluded that they are not binary opposites,and emotion is very important for reporting in the new media environment.It also discusses that the way to balance empathic communication and the objectivity of news is to inject different emotions according to different genres,and to use the communication strategy of cognitive empathy to inject objective emotions and avoid sensationalism.Finally,in the conclusion,the key points for better empathic communication are as follows: shaping three-dimensional images of medical staff,actively changing reporting topics over time and adhering to the objectivity of news to avoid excessive empathic communication,so as to provide reference for other traditional media to carry out empathic communication on new media platforms.
