With the iterative development of internet information technology,mobile platforms and self-media are prospering,and a new era of media convergence has arrived.The audience's demand for news content has increased,the sense of participation has increased,and the pressure of media competition has also increased.The structure and environment of the news media industry are undergoing major changes.In the context,how does the traditional news media encourage the first-line journalists and editors to actively innovate,implement their own development strategies through performance appraisal,create stable growth revenue mechanisms and sources,and provide normal economic support for new media that are turning to the current mainstream development trend.The problem that each unit needs to solve is also the research purpose of this paper.A well-established performance evaluation plan can improve both organization and members' performance.The ability,quality,and performance of the first-line news workers as content producers directly affect the quality of media products and ultimately affect the overall performance of media organizations.Therefore,improve the performance management of reporters and editors,is an effective way to enhance the competitiveness of the news media.The paper takes the performance appraisal of the news editors of Liaoning Branch of Z News Service as the research object,and uses the concepts and methods related to performance management as the theoretical basis to study and compare the differences and characteristics of different appraisal methods,fully integrate the current situation of media integration and the development trend of China's news communication industry.Through comprehensive analysis and diagnosis,we found out the problems existing in the performance appraisal program of the editors and staffs of the Z News Service's Liaoning Branch,and designed the optimization and improvement plan on this basis.The paper also studies and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the improvement program content,in order to continue to promote the realization of the overall strategic objectives of the Z news agency Liaoning Branch in the future work practice,and also provide useful exploration for the performance appraisal work of the editorial staff in the news industry.
