Research Of District Level Public Library Services For Vulnerable Groups In Nanjing

The powerful group and the vulnerable groups are relative,no matter under what circumstances,there will be the weak group,the public library's public welfare and social functions determine that it has the obligation to provide services for the weak group.With China's economic development and social changes,more and more attention has been paid to the care of vulnerable groups,and the library on the vulnerable group service research has been carried out.However,in practice,public libraries still have problems in serving the disadvantaged groups,especially compared with the larger public libraries,district public libraries and other grassroots libraries,which still cannot fully meet the needs of the disadvantaged groups in practice.At the same time,district public libraries are located at the grass-roots level and close to the people,which have advantages different from large public libraries.It is an important link to realize the equalization of library services,and it should be the basis point to better serve the disadvantaged groups.Therefore,it is imperative to focus on the grass-roots level and improve the service level of vulnerable groups in district public libraries.Firstly,this paper sorts out the domestic and foreign research on the service of library vulnerable groups,and gets inspiration from it.Secondly,related concepts and theories are expounded to provide the basis for subsequent analysis.Again,the Nanjing dozen district public library's hardware facilities and service content,to analyze the library service the present situation of the vulnerable groups,finally combined with the weak group questionnaire,summarizes the current district,Nanjing city public library in vulnerable groups which on the one hand the achievements and the existing problems;Finally,this paper discusses the strategies of district public libraries to improve the service level from three aspects: library,government and disadvantaged groups.It is hoped that through this study,district public libraries will pay more attention to readers from disadvantaged groups,tap their own potential,give full play to their advantages,and provide higher level services for readers from disadvantaged groups.
