In the era of big data,data plays an important role in learning and scientific research,and data intensive scientific research paradigm emerges.Under the background of big data,data literacy is significant for scientific research.As a necessary ability of scientific research,it is one of the indispensable supporting qualities of academic research.The important function of university library is to serve for teaching and scientific research.At the same time,University Library has strong information and human resource advantages in developing data literacy education,which makes it inevitable for university library to carry out data literacy education for students.This paper mainly focuses on the data literacy education of University Library for students.It believes that university library realizes its teaching function and core value by providing data literacy education to students.It puts forward that the goal of data literacy education of University Library for students is to enable students to have data awareness,master data ability,respect data ethics,and finally enable students to develop the ability to discover data The habit of using data,analyzing data and using data to solve related problems.First,this paper summarizes the relevant research theories of data literacy education at home and abroad,collate and analyze the existing data literacy education related advanced teaching cases,and theoretically and practically,and answer the feasibility and inevitability of carrying out data literacy education in Chinese university libraries.Secondly,this paper selects Wuhan University,which is rich in relevant theoretical achievements and has carried out earlier case study.Combined with the actual development status of University Libraries in China,it designs a questionnaire to investigate the students of Wuhan University from the aspects of data literacy awareness education,data literacy ability education,data literacy ethics education,data literacy education needs.On this basis,the author further analyzes the current situation of data literacy of college students in China and the expectation of teaching methods.The survey shows some deficiencies in data literacy education in China.Combined with the characteristics of data literacy education in Wuhan University Library,this papersummarizes two models of data literacy education led by University Library and data Literacy Education Co constructed by university library.Finally,on the basis of the above theoretical analysis and in-depth investigation,the author sums up the experience and lessons,and puts forward the embedded education recommendations for the data literacy of college libraries for students,which provides a reference for the development of data literacy education in colleges and universities in my country.This is not only conducive to the service innovation of college libraries in my country,but also provides theoretical guidance for optimizing the subject librarian team of college libraries in my country,and it also helps to enrich the theoretical system of library science.
