Cargill Incorporated is a diversified multinational enterprise group established in the United States.Its business scope covers industrial,agricultural,financial and food-related products and services.Cargill's holding company in China,Cargill Investment(China)Co.,Ltd.,has 3 offices,1 research and development center,and 39 factories in China.With the expansion of operations in China,cross-regional financial accounting is extremely complex,which has also brought a significant increase in operating costs.Therefore,in 2015,Cargill Investment established the financial shared service center as its new functional department to centralize the financial accounting processes of the accounts receivable,accounts payable and general ledger of each factory.Since the establishment of Cargill Investment financial shared service center,the processes of different business units have been standardized to a certain extent,but there are still many problems in its operations management,which have affected the overall operation efficiency of the financial shared service center.Faced with the shortcomings of Cargill Investment financial shared service center,it is of great significance to optimize its operations management.The operations management optimization and its effective implementation of the financial shared service center can improve the overall operating efficiency of the financial shared service center,reduce operating costs,and increase user satisfaction,thereby ensuring the continued healthy development of the financial shared service center's business.This thesis takes Cargill Investment financial shared service center as the research object,and analyzes the operations management problems of Cargill Investment financial shared service center on the basis of summarizing the domestic and foreign relevant theories and literature on operations management and financial shared service center.First,research,interviews,process analysis and other methods are conducted to analyze the current status of Cargill Investment financial shared service center's operations management.It is proposed that Cargill Investment financial shared service center's operations management has resulted in unclear division of responsibilities and inefficient communication in the organizational structure;there are problems such as low efficiency in fund process,untimely payment,slow expense reimbursement,serious overtime at the end of the month,and missing or incorrect accounting documents in the business process;there are problems such as high turnover rate,business personnel overused or incompetent in the personnel management.The reason for these problems is that,from the perspective of organizational structure,Cargill Investment financial shared service center as a whole is relatively independent of Cargill China's financial structure,and the cooperation between business groups within the financial shared service center is not close;from the perspective of business processes,some processes in the center are not concentrated,the degree of manual work is relatively large,the timing and frequency of business process execution are unreasonable;from the perspective of personnel management,the financial shared service center fails to effectively match the difficulty of the work content with the competence of the business personnel,and career paths are limited.Secondly,on the premise of analyzing the operations management optimization environment of Cargill Investment financial shared service center,optimization objectives and principles of operations management are proposed.From the perspective of organizational structure,it is proposed to give the financial shared service center management functions and to strengthen the communication and collaboration between financial shared service center and the factory finance.From the perspective of business processes,it is proposed to further centralize and standardize similar business processes,use information systems to improve the efficiency of original manual processes,and optimize the timing and frequency of business process execution.From the perspective of personnel management,method to match the ability level of business personnel with the difficulty of financial operations is proposed,and it is proposed to implement rotation systems and provide promotion methods to improve the quality and satisfaction of business personnel.Finally,Cargill Investment financial shared service center's operations management optimization implementation is proposed from three aspects of planning,execution and feedback.And three guarantee measures were put forward: performance evaluation,corporate culture construction,and improvement of the information system.This thesis aims to provide some guidance and reference for Cargill Investment's financial shared service center to improve its operations management,and the sustainable and healthy development of its business.At the same time,it provides reference for the same type of enterprises in China that use financial shared service center model.
