In the background of the nation-wide promotion for the revitalization of electronic information industry and the transformation and upgrading of color TV industry,and meanwhile the adjustment of industrial structure,China has vigorously developed the LCD industry.The maturity and growth of TFT-LCD Panel market have broken through the dilemma of "lack of chip and less screen" domestically.To adapt to the complex and volatile global trading situation and the changing of market demand which caused by the cyclical fluctuations of the TFT-LCD industry,the manufacturers must strengthen their product's R&D capabilities,and upgrade their production lines,to be able to stand firmly in the world-wide competition with others.Therefore,the improvement of equipment and product process becomes to an urgent issue for S Company.As the project management theory is getting more perfect and mature,the theory has been widely applied to more industries.And the project schedule control theory has been developed as an important branch of project management theory.This research tries to apply the schedule control theory to the project of a certain product line in S Company,in order to prove it applicable and effective.Firstly,this research exhibits the current development of the project management theory domestically and abroad,then reveals the developing trend of the theory.The researching methods concerning literature,project,and principal component analysis conduct empirical analysis on projects,and explain the application and advantages of the project schedule control and optimization methods in actual projects.The research result tells that the Gantt chart method adopted on the project is effective,and the total construction period does not deviate from the plan.However,there are still many problems that affect the project forwarding in the process of project implementation,such as unreasonable preparation in the overall planning stage,unbalances in the relationship between cost and quality,unclear rights and responsibilities with supplier,unreasonable setting of technical acceptance standards,and unreasonable setting of deviation correction process.This research uses questionnaire surveys of participants who participated in the project,and uses the principal component analysis method to show factors analysis that affects project progress,which contains stages of preparation,implementation,and change correction.The empirical analysis and evaluation results show that the three stages of the factors have a positive influence on the promotion of project,of which the plan implementation stage has the largest impact on the achievement of the project duration,and yet plan preparation stage influents less than plan implementation stage,and the correction stage has the least impact.According to the problems existing in the project implementation process,the corresponding schedule control optimization measures are proposed and implemented.First of all,formulate the scientific and reasonable overall progress plan of the project,and then clarify the work nodes that each department needs to complete and the assistance content that needs to provide in advance.Secondly,strictly control all aspects in project implementation stage.The optimization at this stage could be labeled the top priority of the entire project's schedule control optimization measures.It removes communication barriers,introduces the third-party supervision agencies to review all aspects of project implementation,urges on-site operators to ensure safety,improves KPI performance evaluation system,optimizes technical acceptance process,and quantifies the technical standards.Finally,when deviation is found in the project,change and amend it in time.Through the above-mentioned schedule control optimization measures,the technical upgrade project has reached the overall goal of project preset schedule control,improved work efficiency,shortened the project duration by 35 days,saved the company direct costs of more than 380 thousands RMB,and directly created more than 7.2 million benefits for all.Based on the results of this research,it is strongly recommended to implemented this schedule control evaluation method in fields of small and medium-sized engineering projects in China,especially in the production line technology upgrading of FPD industries.By determining the sequence of the influencing factors of schedule control in the implementation,the optimization strategy of the main and secondary points should be accomplished pertinently,so as to shorten the construction period,reduce the cost,improve the quality and control the safety risks.
