The Transformation Of Earthquake Reports In People's Daily Under The Background Of Media Convergence

Earthquake is the common natural disaster in China and exerts a devastating impact on the society and economy.How to write an earthquake report well,guide public opinion,and channel public sentiment is what mainstream media such as People's Daily should prioritize.The development of the Internet and digital technology has incubated a lot of new media and the news communication environment has also undergone significant changes.Traditional media have gradually declined and been forced to explore media integration.Among them,People's Daily has played a role model in the exploration of media integration.Under the background of media convergence,how can such mainstream media as People's Daily play the role of public opinion guidance in earthquake reports and how to adhere to social responsibilities,and how to expand the influence of earthquake reports is worth the attention of everyone.Based on this,adopting the word co-occurrence quantitative analysis methods and the qualitative text analysis,the thesis compares the characteristics of earthquake reports carried on People's Daily before and after the background of media integration,analyzes the transformation of earthquake report and reasons for the transformation,and proposes corresponding report countermeasures.Through comparing People's Daily's reports on Xinjiang Jiashi Earthquake,Jiangxi Jiujiang Earthquake,and Sichuan Jiuzhaigou Earthquake,Yunnan Ludian Earthquake,we can easily find that the characteristics of earthquake reports before and after media integration are different.Before media integration,the earthquake reports in People's Daily lack humanistic care,and possess a single and one-way agenda setting,with a lack of report objectivity and the reporting forms are limited to photos and texts.After media convergence,earthquake reports in People's Daily have displayed new characteristics,such as the stress of humanistic care in reports,strengthening of agenda-setting initiative,and diversified presentation of news products,etc.These new characteristics have reflected the transformation of earthquake reports under the impact of media integration.Later,the thesis takes earthquake report cases as the starting point,diachronically compares the earthquake reports in People's Daily,specifically describes the transformation of earthquake reports in People's Daily under the background of media convergence,and believes that under the influence of media integration,the report philosophy,process,content,channels and forms have all undergone changes: more advanced report philosophy,reengineered report process,rich report content,diversified communication channels,and multi-faceted report forms.Through sorting out and analyzing the literature,the author believes that the audience demand for diversified development,constantly iterated technology,and continuously perfected policies and regulations are the reasons for the transformation of earthquake reports in People's Daily.The development of the mobile Internet technology and social media development have enabled mobile Internet to become the major channel of information communication and the ecological environment of media has become even more complicated and changeable.Under the background of media convergence,traditional mainstream media such as People's Daily's countermeasures for writing earthquake reports well have adhered to social responsibilities,actively guided opinions,returned to news value,improved the content quality of reports,stressed mobile communication,and actively built an omni-media communication pattern.
