Application Of EPON Technology Inmetropolitan Area Ring Networks

In recent years,with the rapid development and application of internet data services,video games,4K TVs,smart home and Internet of Things service,the supportive performance of broadband networks is more and more important,Meanwhile,the requirements of these services to the broadband also promote the development of broadband technology.Passive optical network has also become the trend of the development for the current network.At present,since the technology of EPON develops to be mature gradually,the required cost for maintenance and construction reduces from time to time,therefore,the actual application of this technology becomes perfect accordingly.The internet technology in these years,not only develops fast at the aspect of enterprise LAN,but also is used to build MAN by each operator,Especially in the video,voice,data and other services tend to Internet Protocol(IP)convergence in the context,the reliability of Internet technologies has been further improved and the convergence time has been continuously reduced,which is crucial for the user experience of video and voice services and is also very crucial for enterprise users and operators.Compared with other protocols,RRPP ring network protocol has the advantages of simple algorithm,fast convergence speed,and the convergence time does not depend on the number of nodes.Firstly,This paper introduces the development and application of EPON technology at home and abroad at the present stage,and compares the technology with GPON,APON and other technologies,analyzes the principle and key technologies of EPON in detail,and shows that EPON technology is the most suitable technology for implementing FTTx in the existing passive optical network technology.This paper compares the existing ring network technology,analyzes the important function and advantage of RRPP ring in the construction of metro core network,and proposes to apply RRPP technology in the metropolitan area network to realize the ring network protection scheme.Through the design and construction of RRPP ring network in Hexi District,the paper verifies the effective application of EPON technology in metro ring network and deeply analyzes the structure and mode of metro core network.Since the prices of equipment and optical fiber materials reduce more and thedevelopment and maturation of technologies,the application scale and field of EPON technology are becoming larger and larger.With the promotion effect of the future large broadband,metropolitan area network and enterprise network using ring technology to provide high viability of the network performance is more and more obvious.
