With the accomplishment of CHINA’S communication profession Reorganization, the,CHINA’s market competition becomes more and more fierce. Take the third generation mobile communication large-scale construction as the symbol, China started to enter the 3G times. Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Networking,especially provide good service for 3G network is becoming increasingly important. Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Networking locate in the confluence between long-distance transmission network and Access Network, which is most complicated network in Communication Network.China Unicom use the wcdma Technical standards in it’s Construction of 3G network. On 7 January 2009, China Unicom was granted a WCDMA license., immediately start Construction of 3G network.At the same time,the construction of Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Network also start. In accordance with service requirment of the 3G network, we have made full use of current network source and consideref orientation of technological development of Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Network.We analyse service requirment of the 3G network and Broad Band Network in depth.Base on the wide-ranged material collection and discussion of Technique Scheme,we have planned and designed in a unified way and constructed step by step. In this paper, We’ll focus our discussion on the Status and orientation of technological development of the Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Networking.We also analyse configuration of the Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Networking,relation between the capacity and service requirment of network.Accordingly, telecommunication operator is trying to establish an Optical transmission network, which can cover target area with its advanced technology, flexibility of operation and management, safety and reliability features, and powerful ability of transmission and services, so as to provide high speed broadband transibility. At last,this paper also discuss the Management System and some necessary security actions of the Optical Metropolitan Area transmission Network.
