As the entertainment function of mobile devices become more and more powerful,the resolution of the equipped display is higher and higher as well to improve display effect.Nowadays 1080 P mobile phones have dominated the market.Some companies have even released 4K products.Promotion of resolution brings challenge of explosive increase of image transmission data rate.Traditional display interfaces are no longer applicable.Released by MIPI Alliance,MIPI-DSI is a serial digital display interface specific to mobile devices.Due to its high-speed and low-power,MIPI-DSI are nowadays widely applied.Against this background,this paper introduces a MIPI-DSI transmitter interface circuit based on FPGA,featuring a data rate up to 500 Mbps.The paper first briefly introduces MIPI-DSI interface,and the associated MIPI-DCS and MIPI-DPHY.Then,the design of transmitter interface is illustrated in details.Corresponding to the 4-layer structure of MIPI-DSI interface,the transmitter is divided into 4 modules: phy,lane management,low-level protocol and application.Phy module consists of analog and logic circuits,while the rest 3 modules are all logically implemented,using Verilog HDL.Afterwards,the analog circuit is simulated via HyperLynx to verify its electrical characters,and the logic circuit is simulated via Modelsim to verify its logic functions.At last,a test system is designed and built,to test the performance and function of the transmitter interface circuit.The simulation and test results illustrate that the electrical characters of transmitter interface circuit are compliant with MIPI-DSI specifications,and the transmitter is able to drive display module to display dynamic images under a data rate of 500 Mbps.In summary,the video transmission function is realized.
