Process Improvement And Information Appliction Study Of Tooling Management In D Company

Efficient tooling management enables manufacturing firms to achieve good production control,thereby reduces production costs and improves the competitiveness of the firms.As a global computer manufacturing firm,D company has many problems of tooling management which need to be solved.Through the research of process management and information application as well as the actual situation of tooling management in D company,the author will enhance the tooling management in D company by improving processes and information application.Tooling management process improvement in D company divides into two phases: tooling design and development phase and tooling maintenance phase.In tooling design phase,the substantial increase in participation of quality and supply chain departments will lead to solve the problems more efficient.Meanwhile,the author will also refine each process step and use RAPID method to detailed define roles of each department who join in the process.In tooling maintenance phase,some tooling lifecycles will be changed,and tooling evaluation process and maintenance plan will be optimized as well to keep the stability of production capability in D company.Moreover,the thesis will research for tooling management information application,using MySQL database and Apache sever,combining actual demands of D company and ODMs,to establish a tooling management information system.The system mainly includes three parts: data search,tooling development process management and tooling maintenance management.The application of the system improves the efficiency of tooling management.
