Along with the continuous advancement of technology,electronic products such as mobile phones,computers,and iPads frequently appear in people's daily life.There is a tendency the reading carrier has changed from traditional paper books to digital media,which perhaps can explain the phenomenon that digital reading has gradually become the mainstream way of reading.Digital reading has changed people's reading habits and thinking mode,but also caused widespread controversy about its reading effect.On the other hand,digital natives,the main group of mobile phone reading as well as the main force of society,are related to the cultural quality of future national.That is why the research on how to improve the effect of mobile phone reading is an urgent and valuable.Reading is a complex cognitive understanding activity,so the reading effect can be reflected by the degree of comprehension.And interview method can directly show objective phenomena Therefore,this paper uses the contrast experiment method,which can accurately reveal the objective laws between things and exclude subjectivity in analysis,to compare the reading effect of digital and paper reading on the understanding level,find out the factors affects the reading effect,and use the interview method to explore the application of paper reading and digital reading in the daily life of readers.It provides reference for the choice of individual reading mode and library reading promotion service.The experimental variables based on psychology and cognitive theory in this study were designed to explore what factors will affect readers' reading performance.In order to explore the psychological activities of readers during reading,a reading immersion scale was designed to test the reader's psychological state.The Big Five Personality Scale was used to analyze the reader's personality characteristics.The experimental materials selected the news "Mexican politics behind the high-speed rail withdrawal" and the novel "The Secret of the Heart".News and novels are readers' daily reading topics.In order to eliminate external environmental factors,the subjects will conduct on-site experiments at the same place and time.The understanding questionnaire draws on the PISA reading literacy assessment framework,and designs topics from three aspects: locating article information,understanding textual meaning,and appreciating article content.The experimental participants are 40 digital natives from campus and society.They were randomly divided into two groups.One group was a digital reading group,which used their own mobile phone to read.The other group was a paper reading group,which read the prepared material.The Big Five personality test was conducted before the experiment,which was divided into two parts: The first part is that the two groups of subjects read the news articles uniformly under the guidance,then fill out the reading comprehension questionnaire related to the content of the article.The second part is the same as the first part except the reading content is a novel article.At the end of the experiment,four participants were interviewed for daily paper and digital reading.Using R language to conduct T test and regression analysis of the test results,and interview data were analyzed,the results show that: 1)there is no significant difference in effect between digital and paper reading when readers read middle stories and novels;2)the reading effect of highly educated readers is better than the low ones;3)the immersive state helps to improve the reading effect,the more immersive readers have better reading effect;4)the open personality of the reader's personality is not conducive to improving the reading effect of news and novels;5)the reading effect of news is better than novel's.Therefore,the author proposes the following reading promotion suggestions: The library should establish a reading promotion cooperation mechanism and improve the overall quality of the librarians;select promotion channels according to the content attributes of the reading materials;reading promotion activities should focus on the accumulation of readers' knowledge and information technology to enhance readers' reading skills and thinking ability;digital reading platform should pay attention to the legibility of digital resources;reading promotion should be devoted to the creation of good reading scenarios and enrich the readers' reading experience;reading promotion should be reader-centered and use readers' big data to provide personalized services.
