Research On Public Library Service For Older Adults Of Fuzhou Area

In recent years,the aging of the population has become increasingly severe.How to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly has become the focus of this issue.Due to the development of knowledge-based society and the popularization of lifelong learning concepts,public library,as public cultural service institution,have natural advantages in terms of public welfare and rich collection of resources,etc.,in meeting the needs of the older readers.In order to invigorate services for the elderly readers,there are a series of public libraries service provided for this group of people.This thesis chooses the elderly readers as the research object,reveals,based on the related concepts of the service for the elderly readers in the public libraries,the necessity of serving the elderly readers in public libraries,analyzes them and proposes improvement strategies.After a brief analysis of the services provided for the elderly readers of public libraries,this article then conducts a questionnaire survey on the service of elderly readers of public libraries in Fuzhou Area.Taking the Fujian Provincial Library,Fuzhou Library,and the Taijiang District Library as examples,the author based on the data collected by the questionnaire of the aged readers' satisfaction and the data from practical interviews with the interviewees,analyzed and reached the conclusion that the elderly readers have the access to public libraries.There was a positive correlation between the satisfaction of senior readers' services and the environment and facillities,document resource services,librarians' ideological quality and business level,and the services provided for the elderly readers.Finally,according to the experience and analysis of the elderly readers of public libraries in Fuzhou Area,the author puts forward the specific problems existing in the elderly readers of public libraries in Fuzhou Area,and proposes further improvement strategies for their problems.
