With the development of national economic construction,cities are deemed as the main carriers of modern economic development and their image construction plays an important role on the comprehensive effect of regional development.The construction of urban images includes economy,culture,environment and some other aspects.As a stage to display the image of cities,exhibition highlights its significance and importance and thus it becomes the darling of media reports.As important carriers for dissemination of urban images,newspapers,radio,television and other media have been making great contributions to the publicity and promotion of urban images.National newspapers display China's image to the world by covering domestic events.Local newspapers set up columns to introduce local customs and conditions.Radio broadcasts create local brand features through creation of dialect programs.Local television stations start from economy,culture,entertainment and some other aspects,comprehensively display local residents' food,clothing,housing and transportation,and become an important channel to spread the image of the local.This article selected Guiyang Daily as the research object and selected a total of 454 reports during BIG DATA EXPO from 2015 to 2017 as research samples.From the angle of communication,this article combined many methods such as case analysis,content analysis and text analysis with SPSS software.From five aspects including external presentation of reports,reporting tendency,cognitive attribute,external attribute and discourse structure,it constructed categories.The study found that "Guiyang Daily" made concentrated reporting of BIG DATA EXPO through many ways such as adding special layout on the number of reports and planning topics for highlighting the effect of agenda setting.The overall reporting tends to be positive.From the analysis of the reporting topics,we can see that Guiyang Daily made reports of the urban image of Guiyang with multi-topics,multi-angles and comprehensive 3D from three aspects,namely,economy,culture and politics.Positive words were used for description in the discourse structure.In addition,the analysis of the communication strategy on urban image construction in BIG DATA EXPO reporting of “Guiyang Daily" shows that in the local large-scale exhibition reporting by local mainstream media,the local media as a communicator was good at making full use of its own regional advantages,analyzing the humanistic factors and some other factors of the regional environment and reporting contents close to the audience.On the contents of communication,the position of its urban image was also very clear during the period of reporting for BIG DATA EXPO,so in the process of the image communication,the theme was bright,the report was concentrated,and the pertinence was strong and on the disseminating channels,the newspaper layout presented other media channels,enriched the report contents and constructed the system.In planning of the reporting content,the diversity of the audience groups were considered for seeing the whole through a small part and the image of "the innovative central city led by big data" in Guiyang was established.On the image construction and dissemination effect,the target was clear and the details were appropriate.With the foundation of strengthening the ecological environment established before and the urban image of "Refreshing Guiyang",the urban image for innovating and pioneering development was promoted.This article hopes to study the local mainstream media's reporting on the large-scale exhibition which is a special mode of communication through analyzing how local mainstream media constructs an urban image of Guiyang media reports in large-scale international exhibition and the communication strategy of constructing the urban image in exhibition report.This is useful for finding out the relevant experience in the related exhibition reporting and providing help on shaping an urban mage in a better way.
