The Research About Media Supervision In Food Safety Governance

With the development of economy and society,the public has been paying more and more attention to the food safety issues.Especially in recent years,the increasing food safety incidents lead food safety issues becoming more and more serious.Such a brutal reality has urged people to deepen the cognition on food safety issues.To address food safety issues,it is imperative to realize the modernization of food safety governance,and the role of the media has gained more attention.With the development of science and technology,the network of information and the marketization and globalization of economy,market failure and government failure in food safety governance gradually appear.In order to make up for the shortcomings of current food safety governance,there is an urgent need for the social powers,especially the media,to make up for the lack of food safety governance.This paper takes the media as a representative of social forces as research object,combined with theory and case,then makes in-depth discussions about media participation in food safety governance at the present stage.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of the research,the research contents and methods,the innovation and deficiency of the article.Then has a review of the research achievements both about domestic and foreign scholars in the field of food safety.The second chapter clarifies the core concepts of food safety governance and media supervision.Through the analysis of market failure theory,government failure theory and collaborative governance theory provides theoretical support for media participation and supervision in food safety governance.The third chapter is about the media participation in food safety governance evolution and the status quo.Combined with the relevant case,the paper summarized the implement process and achievements of media participation in food safety governance.The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis about the existing problems and their causes during the practice of media participation in food safety governance.The shortage of professional ethics and knowledge of the media personnel,the unbalanced development of media,imperfections of government information disclosure,constraints of traditional work concept coupled with the shortage of relevant legal systems,result in the problems such as information distortion,stretch of fact,excessive government intervention and in the process of media supervision,which seriously affect the role of media in the supervision of food safety governance.The fifth chapter is based on the first four chapters,combined with China's national conditions,this paper puts forward measures to improving media supervision in food safety governance from the aspects of media improvement,government construction and establishing a sound laws system,this helps to strengthen the media supervision of food safety and safeguard the rights and health of citizens.
