As a high priority on people's livelihood project, food safety not only plays an active role in building well-off society, but also impacts on the public confidence in government marketing management capacity and on the social harmony and stability. In recent years, a series of inside stories of the food industry which injured the public interest were revealed. These stories exerted a great social influence both home and abroad.Being a bridge to connect the government to people, media's coverage on the food safety incidents would guarantee the public's right to know, and also effectively promote the construction of government scientific policy-making and the early warning system on food safety.Based on the social background and the media's coverage of China's food safety, this thesis takes "Sanlu Milk Powder Incident", the typical case of food safety coverage in 2008 as a an example.Based on the Frame Theory, using content analysis of Hebei Daily and the Southern Metropolis Daily, the thesis analyzes both content and methodology of those media's coverage.Besides, in accordance with the existing problems and the problems of framework in media's coverage of food safety, the thesis gives some concrete advices on several aspects, such as strengthening media social responsibility, improving journalists' scientific attainments on food safety, and enhancing the construction of professional ethics.
