In recent years,with the rapid development of network technology,manufacturers produce more and more kinds of devices,and functions become more and more complex,hence the difficulty of network element management is greatly increased.The traditional network element management system with simple function,simple structure and low degree of intelligence is unable to meet the requirements of network element management now.Integration and intelligentization have become the development direction of network element management system in the future.OpenNMS is an open source software for network monitoring tools,realizing parts of network management functions based on Java and XML technology,including service polling,data collection and event notification management,which has good scalability.The system structure and realization mechanism of OpenNMS have important reference value for design and implementation of network element management system.This paper aiming at the existing problems of network element management system,combined with actual network equipment's management requirements,designs and implements a network element management system based on OpenNMS system.This paper also uses the method of event driven mechanism and functional modularization,realizing functions like equipments automatic discovery,security management,configuration management,performance management,fault management.The main work and achievements of this paper are as follows:1.The system ar-chitecture and specific function of OpenNMS system are studied.The main implementation mechanisms of OpenNMS system are analyzed,such as polling mechanism and alarm mechanism.2.According to actual demand of network element management,this paper designs ar-chitecture and function modules of network element management system,realizing the functions of alarm,polling,automatic discovery,equipment configuration,system configuration,data collection and so on,ensuring stable and efficient operation of the system through a series of mechanisms.3.The event driven mechanism of network element management system is designed and implemented,which ensures the efficient linkage of each functional module by defining events,sending events,receiving events,monitoring events and handling events.4.The device automatic discovery method based on MDNS protocol is put forward,which uses multicast message,greatly improving the efficiency of device automatic discovery.
