Design And Implementation Of IT Configuration Change Management System

In order to achieve sustainable management of network infrastructure, IT staff of enterprise have to take precautions backing up configuration files of entire network before occurrence of unacceptable disaster when modern enterprise networks become increasingly complex than ever before. Usually, IT staff could restore backup configuration files to reduce economic losses in case enterprise network breaks down some time. However, the traditional method to manually change configuration for network management is from enough to meet the needs. Thus, it is very significant to do the research of how to automate configuration information management for network infrastructure to improve enterprise IT resource management.The research in this paper attempts to provide basic features and capabilities backing up configuration changes automatically to help enterprise realize network configuration change management, and improve efficiency of enterprise network management, operation and maintenance. The research covers discovery of network devices, backup, query and recovery of network configuration files, comparison of configuration versions etc. Through these features, it is easy for administrator to know clearly what configuration information of network device has been changed, and also to notify staff related in many kinds of cautions when network breaks down. Therefore, network administrator can employ previous correct configuration files to restore network and business rapidly.This paper is divided into seven chapters; the first elaborate research background of the topic, and describe conceptually the IT changes and the reason why enterprises need to manage them. What's more, the first analyze what kinds of basic functions should be included in the IT change management system, and preliminarily construct the rough outline of this system on market demands. On this basis, This Paper clarifies main ideas to build structure of this system and components.And it emphasizes detailed design and implementation processes for client-side, server-side and database schema. The last chapter describes the issues and problems emerged during the research and in-depth thinking based on them.IT system configuration and change management is an integral part of ITIL system only. I hope that the research could serve as a catalyst on this topic, and that the mass of researchers, corporate R & D staff could constantly strive to explore and practice ITIL area to enable China's own ITIL products to be widely accepted around the world.
