Research And Implementation Of Configuration Management Workflow Model Based On CMMI

As we all know, software process improvement based on Capability Maturity Model has been a very effective means for enhancing the quality of software development and the efficiency of production. And CMM makes a tremendous contribution in the software industry development. The main reasons for progress from CMM to CMMI has three points: First, the rapid growth of the software projects' complexity makes the process improvement more difficult. Second, the combination of software engineering parallel and multi-kinds of science. Third, to achieve the best benefit of process improvement. People focus on the question that how to utilize CMMI to execute software process improvement and evaluation.The software configuration management is a key process in CMMI, it runs through the whole software lifecycle, and offers a set of management and activity principle for software development. Effective SCM can reduce the risk that may bring from software changing, it has an important significance on those no matter to the managers or developers of software enterprise. In CMMI, there are detailed practices on controlling and management of software products. CMMI only defines what to do in the software process, while not show how to execute these process.This dissertation analyses the shortages of current configuration management tools at first, and puts forward a configuration management system frame with complete function. And then transform the generic practices and specific practices in CMMI staged representation to relevant activities in configuration management. And establish a CM workflow model, which effectively combines the CM, CMMI and practice. Then utilize workflow net to process modeling, which not only describes the whole configuration management process clearly, but also indicates the status of current activities and the trigger mechanism of activities. Finally according to the implement of HBCMSMIS project, this dissertation establishes detailed CM workflow on bug tracking in the test stage which is a weakness in the development, and realize the process based on the platform Lotus Domino/Notes.This dissertation effectively combines the flow and tools, and establishes detailed CM flow, which not only deals with CM well, but also accords with the CMMI standard. It can provide certain reference function for concrete CM practice, and answer the question that "how to do" which can't solve in the CMMI.
