Thoreau,a famous American writer,said that the classic is the highest record of human thought.Classical reading plays a decisive role in the progress of human civilization and the record and inheritance of culture.Children as the future of social development,their mentality and intelligence are still in the developmental stage,its character,behavior,values have not yet been finalized.Reading classics can help children to broaden their horizons,improve their own cultural accomplishments,form a positive and progressive attitude toward life and the correct values of life.At present,the classic reading of children presents the decay phenomenon,the quality of children's books varies greatly.Children and their parents have difficulties in selecting classic books.The impact of fast-food culture makes the children shallow read and do not read the classical books.Children's classic reading lacks joint guidance on society,school and parents.Under the environment of nationwide reading activities,as a carrier of cultural transmission,public libraries have begun to emphasize the promotion of children's classic reading activities,furthermore the quantity and quality of their promotional activities have greatly improved.The thesis mainly discusses the promotion of children's classic reading deeply in public libraries in Hefei from six sections.The first part introduces the introduction of the thesis statement,including the background and significance of the research,the status quo of the promotion of children's classic reading in domestic and foreign public libraries,the definition of main concepts,research methods and ideas and research innovation points.The second part of the dissertation from two perspectives-children's parents and librarians,not only investigating and promoting children's classic reading in Hefei area,but also understanding and analyzing the data.The third part is the case study and analysis of children's classical reading promotion in Hefei area.This thesis selects children's classic reading promotion activities in Anhui Library,Hefei Library and Hefei Children's Library,respectively,so as to understand the public Library promotion in this area.The fourth part is based on the Hefei District Public Library excellent children classic reading promotion cases,this thesis analyzes Hefei public libraries children's classic reading effective promotion.Based on the data and excellent cases of the questionnaire,the fifth part puts forward the shortcomings of promotion of children's classical reading in Hefei area,including the construction and management of children's classical library,imperfect construction of children's classic reading promotion,promotion of children's classic reading,lacking of hierarchical reading promotion model,lacking of guidance for the promotion of children's classic reading and the librarians lack subjective awareness and professionalism ability.The sixth part gives concrete and feasible methods for the problems raised in the fifth part,including improving the construction and management of children's classic library collection,emphasizing the construction of children's classic reading promotion,establishing the children's classic reading and promoting grading pattern,establishing the multiple subject cooperation path and cultivating subjective awareness and professionalism of public librarians.
