A Comparative Study On Subject Service Of University Libraries In China And America

With the development of society,the subject service of university library has become an integral part of teaching and scientific research.The development of universities is inseparable from the development of teaching and scientific research.The breadth and depth of the subject service of the library directly affect the speed of the teaching and scientific research.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the service quality of University Library.Improving the subject service needs of university in China needs to learn advanced experience of foreign university libraries.Based on the practical experience of foreign countries and the actual situation of China's universities,this paper puts forward the development strategy of Chinese Academic Libraries.In this paper,the author makes clear the subject librarian's connotation,role,quality and the service content,service mode of subject service.The author chooses the representative of the top ten universities in China and the United States to conduct an investigation and research on the subject service of the library.The author will make a comparative study on the information resources construction,subject librarian,academic exchange and information literacy education.This paper will summarize the differences between China and the United States in the subject service of universities,analyze the reasons,and put forward the feasible countermeasures for the development of the subject service in China's Universities.The subject service of the University Library in China started late,and its development is far behind the same level of American and Universities.It is beneficial to the further improvement and development of academic library services in China from both theoretical and practical aspects,by comparing the subject service of University Libraries in China and the United States.
