Information is getting more and more important for technology and management innovation for manufacturing enterprises, in order to keep up with the rapidly changing and globally heated market competition. Nowadays, kinds of management information systems have been applied in many manufacturing companies, e.g., OA, ERP, CAPP and etc., and then positive economical effect has been generated. And each of the systems could contribute to some economic benefits. However, the problem of information island, which results from the relative isolation of enterprise management solution among companies, always hinder the improvement of production efficiency and progress of informatization in manufacturing companies. With the development of enterprise information technology and management tools innovation, enterprises gradually realize that manufacturing execution system (MES) is an effective way to solve this problem.This thesis focused on a specialized production enterprises which is long engaged in rail transportation equipment research and manufacturing. basing on analysis of domestic and international MES and several industrial MES development solutions, Combining current status and actual needs of this company, this thesis studied production modes based on management centered on station system.A MES information model based on station system has been built, as the result of feasibility analysis of MES execution, system function planning, mission planning, block function planning and requirement analysis and design. Following this, general strategy and design principle planning of MES execution, system functions and sub-systems based on MES centered on stations have been developed, and processes of main function blocks have been clearly described. This thesis developed Management Information System centered on stations for production line of bogie assembling in the company. The core functions of main blocks of MES centered on stations have been achieved, and the trials are positive, so it proved that functions and feasibility of MES centered on stations are well planned.In the end, a summary about the main works and the shorts of this thesis have been pointed out, and suggestion to MES execution has been offered.
