Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is considered as the bridge between ERP system of enterprise level and PCS system of job shop, which has achieved the switch from production management to production control in a manufacturing enterprise. Recently, as drastic market competition drives, military electronics enterprises, which with characteristic of unitary and little batch, enterprises to combine the develop mode and batch one. enterprises get higher requirement on integration, collaboration and agility of MES. Thus, it is an important problem to how to effectively construct the MES, which meet requirements of military electronics production.According to trends of MES, features and requirements of project production was researched based on the home and aboard research work of MES and its key technologies. Computer Integration Manufacturing technology and artificial intelligence technology are applied in project production process to resolve the problems of long production period, high rejection rate and cost, and improve the parallelism of development and batch production. The main points are summarized as follows:The software architecture of MES for military electronics production was established. In order to realize integration and cooperation of production process, the business process model was proposed. A three-level business structure was designed for manufacturing system. Moreover, the characteristic of business structure was analyzed. To support the architecture of MES, the software function structure was designed, that describes the composition on core function, and the structure of date table was designed.To deal with the problem of production scheduling, a module of plan execution management was presented. First of all, the business demand of project execution management for military electronics was analyzed and the business process was collated. Moreover, the software function flow was designed. Based on the function flow, the work-shop plan management, co-material plan management, scheduling and order management were designed. Finally, the core table structure and example interface of plan execution management ware presented.The module of logistics process management was designed based on the analysis of logistics business demand. First of all, the characteristic of logistics process, process of logistics and the work flow of logistics control system were introduced. Moreover, the software function flow was designed. Based on the function flow. the co-material work management, frock distribution management, out-put and in-put of warehouse management were designed. Finally, the core table structure and example interface of logistics process management ware presented.Based on the above-mentioned software design and actual production requirements for the MES, the prototype system is developed by PowerBuilder11platform and Oracle lOg database, and the MES for military electronics is proved feasible and efficient.
