The Content Quality Of College Institutional Repositories Research

The rise of open access movement generated the institutional repository(IR).In 2001,the Ohio State University Knowledge Bank was build,which is the first institutional repository in the world.Since then,for the purpose of opening access digital academic resources,many colleges and universities started to establish own institutional repositories,such as: Taiwan Academic Institutional Repository,Xiamen University Institutional Repository,Tsinghua University Institutional Repository,Institutional Repository of Peking University,etc.Although a growing number of colleges and universities actively involved in the construction of institutional repositories,really high quality and distinctive institutional repository is not much.Many institutional repositories only produced the secondary collection of college academic resources and achievements of teachers and students in school,which highlights its content quality problem.At the same time,most of digital resources of college institutional repository are given priority with published academic resources,but a lot of not officially published academic resources that have important scientific research value have not been fully appreciated and recognized.From academic resources content control,academic resources quality control and academic resources authority control three dimensions,this article research institutional repository 3 level content quality control security systems,respectively including academic recommendation system that surrounded "discipline leader",IR open peer review platform and institutional repository all kinds of digital resources metadata quality control system.This paper includes 4 parts: to guarantee the content quality of IR resources,forming academic recommendation system that surrounded "discipline leader",under the use of the authority and influence of "discipline leader";applying open peer review method for IR digital resources evaluation and constructing institutional repository open peer review system;IR metadata specification control including: metadata acquirement,getting rid of repeated metadata,metadata storage and special resources metadata specification.At last,Tsinghua University Institutional Repository's Aminer-mini and Lanzhou University Institutional Repository's promotional activities illustrate the important role of IR promotion in the construction of institutional repository.This article aims to construct IR 3 level content quality control security systems,looking forward to establish high quality and distinctive university institutional repositories,realizing the sustainable development of college institutional repositories.
