With the continuous improvement and development of ZigBee technology, ZigBee technology has become one of the most widely used wireless communication technology.Compared with other wireless communication technology, ZigBee technology has the obvious advantages of low-power, low-cost, low-complexity, which is widely used in military, industrial automation control, smart home, consumer electronics, medical activities and other fields. It has a broad application prospect.This thesis firstly introduces the ZigBee protocol architecture, including physical layer protocol and MAC layer protocol in 802.15.4 protocol standard, ZigBee network layer and application layer protocol standard, and particularly studies the network configuration, network topology, network formation technology and network address allocation mechanism of ZigBee network.Secondly, this thesis studies the idea and working theory of the Cluster-Tree, the AODVjr and the ZBR routing algorithm,and sets up a ZigBee routing protocol simulation environment after studying NS2 simulation software.Then, based on the depth study of the ZigBee routing algorithm, this thesis makes simulation and analysis on Cluster-Tree, AODVjr and ZBR routing algorithm with NS2 simulation platform.Finally, on the basis of study and simulation of ZigBee routing algorithm, this thesis puts forward an improved method of adaptive adjusting RREQ broadcast radius according to routing discovery process having a large number of redundant RREQ. The core is calculating depth of the destination node by its network address, this thesis presents a node depth algorithm and provides the pseudo code. Simulation results of improved routing algorithm show that the improved method can effectively reduce the network control overhead and energy consumption.
