With the development of technology such as communication technology, network technology, sensor technology and Micro Electro Mechanical Systems, Wireless Sensor Network has stepped into our lives gradually. And ZigBee is a kind of short range wireless communication technology which is designed for low speed wireless sensor network with characters of low-power consuption and low-cost. ZigBee wireless sensor network has a very broad applied prospect in those areas, for example, Smart home, Medical care, Environment monitoring, Industrial Control and Military, with advantages such as energy efficient.It has been important research subjucts that how to reduce the energy-cost and the redundancy of network as well as how to prolong the life time of network, aiming at the improvement of network performance and the better adaptability of wireless sensor network established by ZigBee technology in various application scenarios.First, the wireless sensory network and the ZigBee technology have been introduced briefly in this paper.Then ZigBee Protocol has been analysized, and on the basis of that, the attention has been paid on ZigBee Routing Protocol. And the Routing optimization algorithm which is the integration of the RREQ which adapts itself to the dynamic situation and the limitation of the node energy. Simulation results show that the life time of network has been prolonged by means of the using of improved routing algorithm. And the consumption controlled by Routing and the redundancy of network and the overall network consumption have been reduced. And the energy in different nodes has been balanced, meanwhile, the time of "Dead nodes" has been put off.Here are the main contents of the paper:1. The brief introduction of the constructure, features, key technology and applied areas of wireless sensory network.2. The generalization of the development, characters of technology and application of ZigBee technology, and the comparision of characters among short range wireless communication technologies, and the simulation test of coexistes between networks.3. The generalization of different levels in ZigBee Protocol, and the detailed introduction of the network layer address assignment mechanism and topology structure, and the comparision among different editions of ZigBee Protocol.4. This paper mainly studies the construction process of ZigBee and the research of Routing Mechanism. And the introduction and the simulation comparision between Cluster-Tree,AODVjr and ZBR5. The summary of ZigBee routing algorithm developed nowadays, and the Routing optimization algorithm, and the simulation analysis tested by NS-2 simulation software.
