we intend to improve the process after the completion of the traditional aviation instrument design for instrument human-computer ergonomics evaluation, it requires a lot of manpower material resources.However, as in recent years the rapid development of computer hardware and software technology, it makes the degree of realistic virtual instrument also constantly improve, so that makes using virtual instrument human-computer ergonomics evaluation is feasible.Under this background, this paper aims to study the ergonomic evaluation of virtual instrument, it makes the instrument design phase can for ergonomic evaluation instrument, and save design costs to shorten the design process.First of all, this paper comprehensively introduces the flight simulation platform FlightGear, and describes the history and characteristics of FlightGear, and discussed The FlightGear software component in detail, such as OpenGL、Plib、SimGear.This paper discusses organization structure and function of FightGear has carried on the detailed analysis and researchSecondly, we are studied the secondary development of instrument modeling under the FlightGear, such as using the AC3D to configured, Completing the FlightGear instrument embedded with XML documents to configuration of instrument, And written communication module based on UDP protocol to read FlightGear data.Then from the perspective of human-computer ergonomics, we completed the virtual instrument for ergonomic evaluation index selection and weight really, and to improve the classic Filed’s method.At the same time we set the corresponding flight course under the FlightGear.Finally, using the VS2010, we implement the evaluation system of virtual instrument display, and we organize volunteers to do experiment, it is concluded that the two groups of different attitude indicator (internal and external depending on the outside and inside) of evaluation data.we implement the secondary development of embedded virtual instrument and virtual instrument display and the ergonomic evaluation, it is a try.This paper has made some achievements.From the experimental results, we achieve the expected effect. So we concluded that the secondary development of FlightGear of embedded virtual instrument for ergonomic evaluation is feasible.
