With the fast development in computer simulation technology and the rapid popularization of computer networks, network based virtual reality technology research becomes a hot spot. The development and research of the virtual laboratory become a new orientation of distance education. And It is getting more and more attention in education sector. Virtual experiment system replaced the real laboratory, improved the teaching methods and promoted the teaching quality, It also achieved very good results. In the traditional real experiment, there are insufficient resources in many laboratories, one equipment was shared to many people, and the experimental environment was poor. It was seriously affecting the students to experiment activities. The development of virtual experiment system could solve these problems that existed in the real experiment.In the virtual experiment teaching process, we need to simulate the apparatus and instruments which are used to measure data in actual teaching. For example, oscilloscopes, function signal generator, multimeter, etc. In the original model of development of virtual instrument, each virtual instrument requires programmers to write code to complete the development. That leads the development of repetitive is very large, and the development efficiency is not high. To solve the above problems, this paper provides an editable theory of the virtual instruments, and provides editing tools for a virtual instrument. This method changes the principle of the creation of virtual instrument approach, the editor generates a new virtual instrument without the programmer writing any code, greatly reducing the development cycle of the virtual instrument. It can also meet customer's individual requirements of a virtual instrument in some aspects places, and does not change the basic function of the virtual instrument.Editor-generated virtual instruments is different from code-generated ones in principle, but in the experimental platform there is no difference in use. It can satisfy the teaching requirements of the experiment, and it can brought great convenience to the developers.
