The virtual instrument technique has made a technical revolution in measuring and control. With the advantages of high performance/cost ratio and expansibility, virtual instrument is successful in wide use of measuring. Just as advancements in PC technologies transformed the way we automate measurements, networks are revolutionizing the fundamental architecture of PC-based measurement solutions. With the rapid development of network, network technique has been applied to every walk of life and become the assistant for work, study, living and entertainment. As for measuring instrument, new technique and industry of electron business instrument stream, remote teaching, remote data collection and control, top instrument remote real-time transfer, remote fault diagnose, remote measurement, measure web service and etc are in the ascendant, and bright the market for virtual instrument. Networked virtual instrument is one of the most importance direction in the development of virtual instrument, have market potential and application foreground. It is valuable and significance for studying networked virtual instrument technique and for developing virtual instrument products. The study for this are showed in detail as follows:1) With the technology of virtual instrument especially networked virtual instrument is nearly tracked, we master the new treads, such as virtual instrument bus architecture, virtual instrument VISA, IVI international standard. With Microsoft.NET technique are deeply studied and experienced, we master the core of .NET, such as .NET component, .NET Remoting, XML Web Service and etc. The .NET correlative techniques are applied to study networked virtual instrument.2) The concept, core technique and solution of networked virtual instrument are put forward, and the technique system for it is built, and the theory and solution for distributed data access and storage, data publication, data share, distributed execution and etc are put forward. The pattern and application solution based on network multicast, .NET Remoting and Web service for developing networked virtual instrument are also bring forward.3) The ways to apply soft engineering for developing virtual instrument are discussed, including development management, UML modeling, distributed develop pattern and smart client solution and etc of virtual instrument.4) The developing toolkit of virtual instrument based on VS.NET consists ofvirtual instrument driving library, virtual instrument controlling panel library and virtual instrument function library which are seamless integrated with VS.NET by plug-in. The virtual instrument develop toolkit is one of the most important research production. It is significance for developing more and more networked virtual instruments5) The networked virtual instrument technique is applied to develop laboratory based on networked virtual instrument, networked measure and control, networked virtual instrument stream and etc.On the basis of collecting plentiful information up to the minute inside and outside of China, combining the research productions obtained during several years, the virtual instrument and correlative networked technique are deeply studied. All the studies are practical and realistic, and full of innovation. The research productions are beneficial for theory study and development practice in the nearly future. The research method is valuable of discussion and reference.
