The Needs Study Of Public Library Service For The Disabled

Enjoying the public welfare of public library service is an important aspect to achieve the cultural rights for the disabled. As a social worker of Fujian TongRen Volunteers Service Center for the Disabled, author adopted the methods of questionnaire and depth interview do this research, which investigates the overall condition about the disabled uses the public library and evaluate the demand on public library service for the disabled in Fuzhou G section. The disabled awareness and utilization both are low toward the public library service project through this survey, some disabled even don’t know they have rights to enjoy the service of public library. The disabled possess reading demand of paper resource, information demand of electronic resources and service demand of training seminars. On the basic of investigation author consider interaction between the disabled and public library as a system by using the point of social work system theory. Which analyzes the reason of the block using public library for the disabled and put forward to it not only from the perspective of the disabled and the public library but also assistive volunteer organizations, the disabled special association,Com-munity support network system and various of resources linking,Arousing the disabled’s cultural rights awareness and satisfying the disabled’s demand of public library service.
