A Survey And Research On Services For Disabled Readers In Provincial Public Libraries In The Yangtze River Delta Region

In recent years,the development of China's public library industry has ushered in a prosperous period.Public libraries can enable all social strata to exchange and collide with scientific and cultural knowledge and information in different periods.The essential role of public libraries is to provide rich power and resources for the development and progress of society.All social groups have equal rights to enjoy the national public cultural resources.As a special group,the disabled readers have special needs.It is impossible to meet their objective needs without carrying out some special services.The public library can not only help the disabled to enrich their knowledge,but also lay a good foundation for the improvement of the comprehensive service level of the public library.The important research theories of Library Science at home and abroad and the domestic regulations are the theoretical basis for the research of the service for the disabled readers.Starting from the research background,this paper points out that the disabled service is an indispensable part of the public cultural services of Libraries in China.Taking the disabled as the survey object,this paper conducts in-depth interviews with different types of disabled people,conducts questionnaire survey on different disabled readers,and then conducts field research to investigate the current situation of the disabled service of provincial public libraries in the Yangtze River Delta region,so as to understand the situation Nanjing Library,Shanghai Library,Zhejiang Provincial Library and Anhui Provincial Library carry out the disabled service,analyzes its characteristics,sums up the problems in the disabled reader service of provincial public libraries in Yangtze River Delta,such as single service object,lack of talents,lack of resources and so on,and refers to a large number of literature,and puts forward suggestions for improvement.It is concluded that the public library should constantly improve the hardware facilities,supplement professionals,improve its own professional service level,and constantly improve the production capacity of special literature resources,join the participation of social organizations,improve network service measures,and establish a comprehensive and systematic service mode for disabled readers.Only this comprehensive and systematic service mode can meet all kinds of needs of disabled readers,and only in this way can the comprehensive service level of public libraries be improved.This study provides research materials and materials for public libraries to improve the disabled service.
