As the custom demand becomes diversified and personalized, multi-varieties andsmall-batch has become the main production mode in discrete manufacturingenterprises. However, it has caused a problem that the material of workshop willincrease dramatically. In order to ensure normal production, accurate and efficientmaterial delivery is particularly important.The paper takes the assembly workshop as research subject, the JIT delivery asguidelines, the internet of things (IOT) as crucial technology, and do researches on thematerial delivery scheduling problems in manufacturing process of workshops. Basedon real-time information feedback of the work site, it discusses how to schedule thevehicles legitimately by material delivery flow analysis, model construction, solvingmethod, and achieves real-time response to dynamic material demands of theproduction line.At first, the paper analyzes the characteristics of materials delivery in themixed-model assembly workshop, and illustrates the key technologies of materialdelivery and monitoring. Considering about materials delivery and monitoring, errorprevention and other urgent needsof the assembly site, the paper proposes a generalframework for material delivering and tracking.Then, the paper analyzes the material classification principle and delivering modein the mixed-model assembly workshop. Under the premise of known assemblyworkshop layout and material needs, the real-time material delivery model isconstructed and solved using intelligent algorithm, and the material delivering routingis optimized.Next, considering about the demands of workshop materials visualization management, RFID-based material identification system and ZigBee-based materialsmonitoring network are designed respectively. Thus the assembly error prevention isachieved by the method of intelligent materials match detection combing RFID andZigBee.Finally, based on the above researches, the paper designs a materials deliveringand monitoring system, which realizes overall process monitoring for material delivery,and has been implemented in Jianghuai Automobile Co. Ltd for two years.
