Project Report On The Translation Of EPBN Documents Concerning Examination And Approval

This report is based on the translation project of the documents from Environmental Protection Bureau of Nanning (EPBN) concerning examination and approval. Since the source text can be categorized as official document, the report records the whole working process of the translation project and provides some reference for official document translation.Chapter 1 is the introduction of the report. Chapter 2 gives a brief account of the translation project. Chapter 3 discusses the whole working process covering pre-translation analysis, translation process and quality control. Chapter 4 addresses the difficulties encountered in the translation and explores corresponding solutions through the analysis of typical examples. The last chapter summarizes the translator’s experience and the insights gained from it.By recording the process of the translation project on the documents from EPBN concerning examination and approval, this report proposes that the priority of translation for official document should follow the principle of "focusing on the comprehension of source text as well as the accuracy of the translation", for the purpose of presenting conciseness and explicitness of official document. The author records her entire translation experience through the report, hoping that other translators of official texts can find some useful reference for their translation work.
