The vigorous development of neural machine translation and computer-aided translation(CAT)has facilitated the upgrading of translation modes.Today,“MT(machine translation)+ CAT + PE(post-editing)” is a popular translation mode which is especially applicable for translating informative texts.Based on the English-Chinese translation practice of the technical specification for tunnel engineering in a Thailand Railway Engineering Bidding Document, this report describes the application of “MT + CAT + PE” after the introduction of the source text, and gives case analysis under the framework of “understanding, expressing and revision”.This report focuses on introducing the practical operations in memo Q,including terminology management,MT output evaluation, and PE with the help of term bases and translation memories. At the same time,it also shows the difficulties in bidding document translation,as well as the common MT limitations and PE solutions. It is hoped that this report will assist translators engaging in bidding documents translation to submit an accurate translation to the bidder in a time-saving manner so as to enhance the bid acceptance probability. |
