The 21 st century is the era of information economy and knowledge economy. The students in universities are the main group who use the information in the future society, we must pay more attention to the education of information literacy in university, let the students can adapt to the requirement of the era, face to the challenges of the information society. Increasing the students’ information literacy, teaching them the methods of life-long learning and the methods of information searching and using have become the core of the library user education. The level of a student’s information sensitivity, information ability and information ethics will directly affect his achievement in the university and the development in his future. Therefore, information literacy education is the important part of the library user education, and library entry education as the initial phase of it is also need to be paid attention to.First of all, I investigated the research situation of the relative fields both here and abroad, found that there was almost no research on the theory and practice of library entry education, it proved this research’s originality and realistic meaning. Through the research of the fields as "blending learning", "library user education", "information literacy" etc, I summed up the research ideas for the library entry education.How to make the library entry education more effectively? If the teaching theories and methods are also useful for library entry education? If blending learning benefits the library entry education? How to design, develop and implement the library entry education basing on blending learning? They are the main questions of this research.I investigated the situation of several academic libraries, combined with the history and experience of the library I staffed, I summed up the highlights and deficiencies, they provided reference for the design and developing of the blending learning based library entry education. In the period of design and developing, according to the teaching target and content, based on the investigation for the freshers and the relative staff and departments, I designed a new library entry education model which combining face to face teaching and online learning.In the library entry education at 2015, the new model of library entry education had been applied, the problems broken out had been solved timely, and finished the library entry education successfully. According to the score and progress of the freshers token part in the library entry education, the new teaching model had a better effect than the past. The investigations for the freshers and teachers also showed a good result, those questioned were fond of the blending teaching model and gave a lot of advices for its improvement.By this research, following conclusions can be reached, the library entry education can be improved by proper method, the teaching theories and methods are also useful for the library entry education, the library entry education based on blending learning can improve the learning enthusiasm, can improve the effect of the entry education, the new library entry education model has value to be extended in the academic libraries.
