Study On The Function Of School Library In The Students' Information Literacy Education

Human have steped into information society in 21st century, and information literacy has became the necessary literacy of modern, so information literacy education has been the essential parts of literacy education in seconday school. Now information techology education has been widely carried out all over the country, but the most pays more attention on the information ability education, and neglects the other aspects of information literacy. So it led to the fragmental information literacy of secondary school students. And that is one of the important reasons of the net-surfing problems of secondary school students. So it is very necessary to discuss the all-sided information literacy education of secondary school students.The aims of secondary school students' information literacy education is not only to promote the basic information skill, but to educate the ability of control information, the consciousness of using information, and the capability of using information independently and creatively. Now the modus operandi of fostering students' information literacy through training information skill can hardly enhance the information literacy of students roundly. The school library as the information resource center of school have engaged in the information mangement for a long time, so they have the advantage in information literacy education. But because of the effect of traditional idea, it's ruction in information literacy education haven't been brought into play. Therefor the paper start on the study on the fuction of school library in the students' information literacy education. The paper contains five chapters. Chapter 1 introduction. Bring forward the thought of library to take part in the information literacy education of students based on the reason of net-surfing problems of middle school students. Chapter 2 briefly introducts the defitions and the studies on the elements of information literacy home and aboard.Chapter 3 based on the survey datum about actuality of middle school students' information literacy, analyses the problems of middle school students' information literacy and puts forwards the essentials of middle school students' information literacy.Chapter 4 analyses the current situation of information literacy education in middle schools of China from two faces of the main contents and main means, and then summarizes the problems of it .Chapter 5 analyses the work and the advantages in information literacy education of school libraries domestic, and introducts some circumstances of school libraries' information literacy education in advanced countries. Based on it, puts forwards somes measures of school libraries to take part in the information literacy education in our country. The last section is summary.
