During its development, Library Science has not only accumulated many experiences from its operations, but also introduced lots of achievements from various subjects. To solve the problems emerged from inside and outside academic library, it builds up an effective way of communication through user education.Based on the social service function of library according to UNESCO documentary, this dissertation rethinks about human cultural heritage, sorting and cataloguing, amusement, and together with education. With the Information Communication Technology's booming up and cultural globalizing, the native media literacy education needs an organ to unveil the cover and take on the responsibility. This essay analyzes the necessaries and possibilities for library to implement it. Teaching solutions are put forward after a deliberate investigation.This dissertation starts from the theory and concept of media literacy and relating ones, including the differences from information literacy. In order to learn about the current situations in our university, an investigation is designed. According to the analysis of the investigation, a conclusion is made to implement the media literacy education in academic library. That's emphasized is the teaching frame, main content and methods. A case is given about media literacy education in Information Commons, which is the most popular mode in recent years and also a typical way to implement it. The platform of media literacy education is very crucial for a good practice, including strengthening media development, improving librarian literacy, and other conditions.It is still a small step to implement the media literacy education in academic libraries, but it's worthy and valuable.
