As the rapid development of Network communication and improvement of life quality, home user’protection need in personal property and life safety is improving.AS an important part of home security, video surveillance system plays a underestimated role in security and crime prevention.At present, ordinary Video surveillance has been popularly applied in civil security, urban transport and other security field. The rapid development of science and technology brings tremendous changes to the field of security. Based on the characteristics of civilian security product user groups, miniaturization and ease of use of video surveillance system attract more and more attention. In recent years, with the rapid growth of the number of various smart devices, the Video surveillance technology is developing in the direction of digital, intelligence, network and humanization. Traditional Video surveillance has been unable to meet the need to view and monitor "anytime and anywhere devices" because of the limitations in wired networks、low rate of video processing capabilities、bad scalability、no using the intelligent terminal、 bad real-time monitoring and other reasons. Users prefer to mobile, real-time, portable monitoring. However, there are not mature surveillance system products and solution according to mobile device.Based on this background, we put forward the streaming media video surveillance system based on Android platform and Wi-Fi wireless network. It combines the wireless transmission of high definition video and real-time display in the intelligent terminals, supporting users to use Android mobile terminals to monitor and manage the real-time video with the in-door Wi-Fi network easily. It meets people’s need of using intelligent terminals to view video anytime and anywhere and provides more convenience for home users in security protection. Such monitoring system achieves based on streaming media technology. Including server and client, it could be an extended part of exiting Video surveillance system and solves the problem of mobile surveillance. Thanks to its scalable feature of hardware and software, we can do long-time research on it. The major work of this thesis is here:(1)Research the development of video surveillance at home and abroad to clear the direction and frontier technology. Then determine the research goals combined with the needs of the project.(2) Research on the principles, system components, key technology of streaming media. By analysing the development situation of streaming key technology, determine the structure and process and chose H.264coding standards, as well as real-time transmission protocol architecture for of the monitoring system. Research and design the packet approach of H.264with RTP.(3)Compare the popular implementation schemes of network monitoring system to select the appropriate hardware and software development platform for the system. Research the key technology of Hi3507multimedia processing platform and Android system. Build the development environment for our development work.(4)Complete the real-time system overall design based on streaming technology and Android client in WLAN. Declare the system architecture, modules division and communication process. Implement architecture design of the service and client in software and hardware.(5)Realize the real-time video capture, encoding and streaming transfer in Hi3507using the MPP interface. Complete the transplant of Live555server in Linux environment of Hi3507.(6)Analyze the source code of multimedia framework libVLC selected for Android terminal to understand its principle and process of streaming media player. Compile it to get the dynamic library used in Android and call the external application interface to build player. Design friendly interface to decode and display the real-time video. The complete system could run stably by testing.
