In recent years, with the rapid development of embedded technology, wireless communication technology and streaming media technology, based on remote video monitoring of embedded mobile devices and wireless networks has been monitoring the hot area of research. Video surveillance technology along with the development of computer, networking, storage, chip technology, from the early analog video monitoring, the mid-digital video surveillance to the current intelligent network video surveillance technology, and escalating, the structure is constantly changing, constantly improve the functionality, applications continue to develop. Intelligent video surveillance systems, networking and integration is an inevitable trend of development.In this paper, the status quo and development trend analysis of video surveillance for the deficiencies of the current video surveillance system, combined with prospects for market applications designed Android platform-based remote video surveillance applications. The program is very popular Cortex family of microprocessors, the use of the Android operating system as a front-end video capture, USB camera as a video capture device, video stream data, the MPEG-4compression, and transmission of video via streaming protocols using general PC as a monitor client, remote users can browse directly to dynamic video, monitoring the region to achieve the purpose of real-time monitoring.
