The Design And Implement Of A Multi-protocol Client For Video Surveillance Based On Android Platform

With the rapid development of economy and the increasing living standards of themasses, people’s demand of security guard product boosts up. The video surveillancetechnology plays an extremely important role in the field of security because of its convenient,intuitive,timely and informative．Since the traditional video surveillance system has thelimitations of installation for a long time,destruction of the original home decoration,lowertimeliness for the video information and so forth,so it becomes increasingly inadequate tomeet people’s requirements. Thus,with the continuous development of streaming mediatechnology and embedded technology,wireless surveillance based on wireless networks andembedded technology gradually replaces traditional surveillance methods. It widely applies invarious fields such as campus safety,home safety,urban transport and important securitydepartments,etc.Currently,a lot of video surveillance systems put into service no matter in China orabroad,such as the global eye system,Tianyi housekeeping and so on. Although these existingvideo surveillance systems enable users to view real-time video by monitoring terminal,thereare also some disadvantages,e.g. there are a variety of monitoring devices on the market,andeach manufacturer has its own monitoring equipment with the SDK to match the data transferprotocol. There is no uniform video player system leading to confusion in the market and poorcompatibility of video source; mobile terminal especially smart mobile terminals failed toaccess the video source with different protocols self-adaptively,thus the monitoring or play ofmobile video is not available.For this reason,this paper provides a new Android-based video surveillance system clientby researching on the key technologies of smart mobile terminals and video surveillance. Thisclient refers to the smart phone terminal. It support for the playback of video sources withmulti-protocol,so the complex deployment result from that the user using multiplemanufacturers of video surveillance equipment (cameras) must install multiple video drivercan be solved. This system can make the mobile terminal self-adaptively identify and play multi-protocol video source and enhance the capability of video playback system and thecompatibility of video source as well. In addition,since the existing Android system and IOSsystem do not support the play of video with Flash format,the proposed system can also solvethe problem by the compatible of video source with RTMP protocol which make the Flashformat video,the excellent type of video play,can not only be available in browse,but alsoavailable to mobile terminal installed Android system and IOS system.The paper provides a video surveillance system based on the Android platform supportingmulti-protocol. It has been proved by the experiment that it can fit the video surveillanceequipment of different manufacturers，and auto-play multi-protocol video on mobile deviceswhich make the mobile video surveillance more convenient and towards standardizedevelopment. It will bring great convenience for people’s lives.
