A Thinking Of How To Optimize Reading Service Of Public Library With The Phenomenon Of Light Reading

In recent years, the network digitization has gradually integrated with people’s lives. Facing the explosive growth of information, light reading as an effective strategy to deal with the mass of information, become one of the main ways to read for readers. Facing light reading, basic point of this article is:Light reading has its inevitable rationality, we should view light reading as rational as we can, holding inclusive and welcoming attitude to light reading. Public Library as the servicer and provider for social reading should also be properly understood and appreciated light reading and optimize reading services for light reading of readers. This article discussed the issue that public library how to optimize services for light reading, and the content include7chapters.The first part (Chapter1-2), discuss the basic theoretical issues. Clarify the purpose of this topic, significance, basic ideas, the main content and research methods through analysis the background and status of this research. Based on the theme, discussed and analyzed the general issues on reading and light reading, Including:reading, the methods of reading, the type of reading, the psychology of reading and so on; light reading and the causes, characteristics, advantages, disadvantages, about it, and several issues related to light reading.The second part (Chapter3-4), discuss the reality objectively. Through the use of questionnaires and web survey, analysis the tendency of reading in the modern IT environment, and then make a conclusion that people like light reading. Six areas in Kunming Public Library for the survey, analysis the expand services of public library and the status of light reading services through web-based survey and interview survey, point out the inadequacies of the public library reading services from the sense of service, service principles, service resources, the form of service.The third part (Chapter5-6), optimize the strategies of reading service. Against the phenomenon of light reading, make a think with three levels which from the theory of public library service optimization and service method optimization. This paper argues that public library reading service’s core philosophy is "people-oriented", and put forward the basic ideas, the basic principles and the content and form of service for light reading around this core concept of Public library reading services; proposed specific optimization content of services approach from the service concept, service resources, service delivery, service technology and service environment.Finally, gain a summary of this study in Chapter7, point out the shortcomings of this study, statement the direction of efforts for the future.
