Research On Children 's Reading And Extension Service In Public Library

At first, this paper introduces the concept and the service object of children’s reading promotion services, and proposes the purpose and the significance of children’s reading promotion, noting that public libraries has a bounden duty on the children’s reading promotion services because of the responsibilities of public libraries, but also has the facilities and resources for servicing children. Secondly, the paper summarizes the five types of services the public library developing children’s reading promotion services: resource output services, interpretation of story service, second class services, read propaganda-style service and participation practical style service, as well as five features: initiative, equality, interactive, fun and comprehensive.Again, this article summarizes the current situation of public library services for children’s reading promotion of our country, including the development of public library, time, manner, conditions and other ways, then, further points out that the problems of our public library service promoting children’s reading, such as, the service object is not comprehensive, the implementation of activities is not specific, the promotion body can not support each other. Finally, in view of the problems of public library service in the promotion of children’s reading, we propose specific improvement strategies including expanding the promotion service object, enhancing the quality of extension services, jointing other force of extension services.
